the difference between roots of equation x^2+13 x+k=0 is 7 find k​

Answer:

alpha+beta=-b/a= -13

similarly a-b=7

therefore a=7+b

substituting it in eqn 1 we get

7+2b=-13

b= -20/2= -10

therfore a = -3

therefore k= -3×-10=30 (as k is the product of roots)
