the difference of two numbers is 7 and their sum is 53 . find the numbers.​

Let the numbers are x and y. {where x>y}

Now, according to question,

x+y= 53 ------(i)

and , x-y = 7 -------(ii)

By adding equation (i) and (ii) , we get,

2x= 60

x = 30

So , one number = 30

and, another number = 53-30 = 23
