Let the breadth(b) of the rectangular field be 'x' m.
Therefore, the length of the rectangular field(l) = (x+26)m
Given, the perimeter of the rectangular field = 400 m
⇒2(l+b)=400
⇒(l+b)=200
⇒(x+26+x)=200
⇒2x+26=200
⇒2x=200-26
⇒2x=174
⇒x=87
Therefore, the breadth of the rectangular field(b)=x=87m
And the length of the rectangular field(l)=x+26=87+26=113m

Total distance=400m
Breadth=x
Length=26+x=26x
Distance around means perimeter
.. Perimeter of a rectangle=2(l+b)
2(26 +x + x)=400m
2(26+2x)=400m
52+2x=400m
2x=400-52
2x=348
X=348\2
X=164

Therefore,breadth=164
Length = 164+26
=170
