The earth revolve around the sun under the infulence of gravitational force. If the mass of earth is 6*10²⁴ kg, the mass of the sun is 2*10³⁰ kg, and the distance between their centers is 1.5*10¹¹m, then calculate the gravitational force between them. what will be the acceleration of the earth under the effect of gravitaional force ?

Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

F = 3.557×10^22 N

a = 0.006 m/s²

● Explanation -

Gravitational force between earth and sun is given by -

F = GMm/r²

Substitute values,

F = 6.67×10^-11 × 6×10^24 × 2×10^30 / (1.5×10^11)²

F = 3.557×10^22 N

Acceleration of earth under effect of gravitation force is -

a = F/m

a = 3.557×10^22 / 6×10^24

a = 0.006 m/s²

Hope that helps you...
