The Effect of Extreme Heat on Catalase Function What are you looking for in your observations when you are looking for evidence of a reaction? Does the plant tissue that we tested contain catalase? Does the animal tissue that was tested contain catalase?

When looking for observations for evidence of a reaction, you are looking for bubbles which will be the evidence of chemical reaction. the oxygen  gas is formed only if the products are formed and the reaction happens. We see gas as bubbles when the gas is formed in a liquid.

How living cells interact with the surrounding environment?

All living things possess catalysts, within them that speed up chemical reactions and processes.

Enzymes are molecules that enhance the chemical reactions that take place in all living things on earth.

In this catalase and hydrogen peroxide reaction, we will know how enzymes act as catalysts by causing chemical reactions to occur at a faster speed within living things.

Using a potato and hydrogen peroxide, we can investigate how enzymes like catalase functions to perform decomposition or split up of other substances.
