The elections are conducted by the Election Commission of India, at the national level the head of the government is elected by Lok Sabha who is known as the Prime Minister, this appointed prime minsiter takes the seat for five years.

The election commission comprises of trustworthy people who make sure the elections are conducted fair and free and there is no corruption involved in them while choosing a leader.

The election process is supervised by Cheif Electorial Officer at the state level, and this person is appointed by the Commission from amongst senior civil servants.
