Given :    PQRS where PQ= 20 m and PS=25 m. if the area of the parallelogram is 480 m square ,

To find  :   the length of ST.

Solution:

As figure is missing

Case 1 :  ST ⊥  PQ

Area of parallelogram = Base * height

=> 480  = PQ * ST

=> 480 = 20 * ST

=> ST = 24

But ST  should be less than equal to  PQ  Hence not possible

Case 2 :  ST ⊥  QR

Area of parallelogram = Base * height

=> 480  = QR * ST

QR = PS = 25

=> 480 = 25 * ST

=> ST = 19.2 m

Length of ST = 19.2 m
