To Find the area of Running Track , we Need to sum of all the areas.

Area of the straight edges = Length × Breadth ( Since It is a rectangle , we can say so because It's length and breadth differ )

=> Length × Breadth

=> 35 × 84

=> 2940 ....(1)

There are two semi-circles in the running track of radius 42 m, Hence they are equal and congruent and by combining both, a circle of radius of 42 m is formed.

We know that,

Area of a circle =  \pi r^2

=>  \frac{22}{\cancel{7}} \times \cancel{42} \: 6 \times 42

=>  22 \times 6 \times 42

=> 5544 ....(2)

By adding (1) and (2), We get the area of the running track.

Area of Running Track = (1) + (2)

=> 2940 + 5544

=> 8484

Answer : 8484
