Let, the second proportion be,'x'

By condition,

12:x::8:14

or, (12/x) = (8/14)

or, (12*14) = (8*x)

or, 8x = (12*14)

or, x = (12*14)/8

or, x = 3*7

or, x = 21

So, the third term is 21.
