the floor of a room measures 5.5 m by 4 m . how many tiles each measuring 11cm by 5cm are required to cover the floor.

here's ur answer...

given the length of the floor is 5.5m and breadth is 4m.

hence area of the floor=l×b

=5.5×4

=22m²

given the length of the tile is 11cm and 5cm

so the area of the tile=l×b

=11×5

=55cm²

in metres=0.55m²

therefore no. of tiles required to cover the floor=22/0.55

=40

hence 40 tiles are required.
