Given :

☞ Charge for the 1 st day = Rs. 100

☞ Charge for subsequent days = 50 / day

☞ Total No. of. Days = x

☞ Total charge = y

According to the question :

=> y = 100 - 50 ( x - 1 )

=> y = 50 ( x - 1 )

=> y = 50x - 50

=> y - 50x = 50

This is the linear equation.
