SOLUTION :

Given : The foot of a ladder is away from a wall : 6 m

Its foot is away from the wall = 8 m

Let, length of ladder be AD = BE = l m

In ∆ACD, by Pythagoras theorem

AD² = AC² + CD²

AD² = 8² + 6²

AD² = 64 + 36

AD² = 100

AD =√100

AD = 10 m

AD = BE = l =10 m.

In ∆BCE, by Pythagoras theorem

BE² = BC² + CE²

10² = BC² + 8²

100 = BC² + 64

BC² = 100 - 64

BC² = 36

BC = √36

BC = 6 m

Hence,its tip reach the height of 6 m.
