3. The paradox highlighted in the essay is that even after India is the paragon of enlightened gender mainstreaming, women are not paid according to their talents, and are harassed and sometimes exploited.
4. He mentions Cornelia Sorabji who was the first Indian woman to earn an oxford lawyers degree. He also mentions Indira Gandhi who was the first women democratic head of government.
5. I have not read a particular incident but many similar incidents of domestic violence against women. Housewives or working women, husbands treat them as their assets and use them, beat them as they want and like.
