Given:

  • Height of a parallelogram is one third of its base.

  • Area of the parallelogram is 192cm².

To find out:

Find its height and base.

Formula used:

Area of parallelogram = Base × Altitude

Solution:

Let the Base be x

Then, Height = 1/3 x

Area of parallelogram = Altitude × Base

192 = 1/3 x × x

192 = 1/3 x²

x² = 192 × 3

x² = 576

x = 24 cm

Now,

Base,b = x = 24 cm

Height, h = 1/3 x = 1/3 ×24 = 8 cm

Extra:

  • A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with both pairs of opposite sides parallel.
