iven hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle has its ends at the points (1, 3) and b(- 4, 1).

Now equation of a line parallel to x-axis is y = constant

So y = 1

Again equation of a line parallel to y-axis is x = constant

So x = 1

So the equation of the legs (perpendicular sides) of the triangle are x =1 and y = 1.
