SOLUTION :

The correct option is (d) : EQUAL

Let the two numbers be a and b

(a) Let a and b are prime numbers.

HCF (a,b) = 1

LCM(a,b) = ab

(b) Let a and b are co prime numbers.

HCF (a,b) = 1

LCM(a,b) = ab

(c) Let a and b are composite numbers.

HCF (a,b) = 1 or any other highest common numbers

LCM(a,b) = ab

(d) Let a and b are equal numbers and a = b = x

HCF (a,b) = x

LCM(a,b) = x

Hence, the correct option is (d) : equal
