Given :

  • The perimeter of a rectangle is 12m.
  • It's breath is 10m less then its lenght.

To find :

  • The dimensions of the rectangle =?

Formula Used :

  • Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

Step-by-step explanation :

Let, the breadth of the rectangle be, x

Then, the lenght of the rectangle be, 2x + 4

As We know that,

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

Substituting the values in the above formula, we get,

2012 = 2[x + (2x + 4)]

2012 = 2(3x + 4)

2012 = 6x + 8

6x + 8 = 2012

6x = 2012 - 8

6x = 2004

x = 2004/6

x = 334

Therefore, We got the value of, x = 334.

Hence, the breadth of the rectangle, x = 334 cm

The length of the rectangle, 2x + 4 = 672 cm
