 \large\bf\underline{Given:-}

  • Ratio of Length and breadth = 5:3

  • owner spent Rs 6000 for surrounding it from all sides at Rs.7.50 per metre.

 \large\bf\underline {To \: find:-}

  • difference between its length and breadth

 \huge\bf\underline{Solution:-}

Let the length be 5x and breadth be 3x

Perimeter of rectangle = 6000/7.5

Perimeter of rectangle = 800 m

we know that,

  • ≫ perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

»» 2(5x + 3x) = 800

»» 5x + 3x = 800/2

»» 8x = 400

»» x = 400/8

»» x = 50

★ So, we get the Value of x = 50

  • ≫ Length 5x = 5 × 50 = 250
  • ≫ breadth 3x = 3 × 50 = 150

Difference between length and breadth

⠀⠀⠀= 250- 150

  • 100

Hence Difference between length and breadth is 100

For detailed solution kindly look at the attachment.

Hope it helps ^_^

Thanks!

Sorry, EDIT : below there is 12x = 6000

It should be 120x = 6000

Hence, x = 50 m
