Answer:

Let x m. be the length of each side of a square . Its area = x^2 sq.units.

New length= x+(40/100).x= 7x/5 unit.

New breadth=x+(30/100).x=13x/10 unit.

New area =(7x×13x)/50 =(91x^2)/50 sq.unit.

Increase in area =91x^2/50- x^2 = (41x^2)/50sq.unit.

Percentage of increase in area= [ (41x^2)/50÷x^2 ]×100.=82 %. Answer.
