let the common multiple be x.
therefore length of the field= 3*x =3x
and breadth of the field= 2*x=2x.
As the field is rectangular, area of field is equal to area of rectangle.
=length*breadth
=3x*2x
=6(x)^2
we know the area
therefore, 3456=6(x)^2
x^2=3456/6
x^2=576
x=√576=24.
therefore length of field=3*x=3*24=72 m
and breadth of field=2*x=2*24=48 m
to find cost of fencing, we have to first find the perimeter of the field
which is 2(length+breadth)
=2(72+48)=2*120
=240 m
therefore cost= perimeter of field*cost per metre
=240*4
= ₹960
