The number of girls and boys in a class are in the ratio 7:5 and there are 8 more girls than boys. How many girls and boys are there in this class?

Let the no. of girls be 7x and boys be 5x
According to the problem,
7x - 5x = 8
=> 2x= 8
=> x = 4
No. of girls= 7x = 7×4 = 28
No. of boys= 5x = 5×4 = 20
