Let the length be x and width be y. A. T. Q X=y+5 .... (1) Area of rectangle =length ×breadth (X-2)(y+1)=xy-4 Xy-2y+x-2=xy-4 X-2y=-2 On substituting the value of x from eq 1 Y+5-2y=-2 y=7 On putting the value of y in eq1 X=7+5 X=12 Therefore,length =12units and breadth = 7 units
