The length of a rectangle hall is 3 times its breadth. If the perimeter of the hall is 48m, find its length and breadth

Let the breadth be x m. Then,

length = 3x m.

According to question,

Perimeter of the hall = 2(length+breadth)

=> 48 = 2(3x+x)

=> 48 = 6x+2x

=> 48 = 8x

=> x = 48/8

=> x = 6

Hence, the breadth = 6 m

And the length = 3×6 = 18 m.
