Let the Breadth be a

Length = 2a - 8

Perimeter = 2 ( Length + Breadth)

=> 56 = 2 ( a + 2a - 8)

=> 28 = 3a - 8

=> 3a = 36

=> a = 12

Breadth = 12 cm

Length = 2(12) - 8 = 16 cm

vicky451973: let the breadth be x and breadth be 2x-8 perimeter 2(l+b) 56 2(a+2a -8) 28 =3a-8 3a = 36 a=12 breadth 12 and length 2(12)-8 =16cm

hiii!!!

here's ur answer...

ATQ, the length of the rectangular field is 8m less than twice it's breadth.

let the breadth of the rectangular field be x.

therefore length of the rectangular field = 2x - 8

given the perimeter of the rectangular field = 56m

==> 2 ( l + b ) = 56m

==> 2 ( 2x - 8 + x ) = 56m

==> 3x - 8 = 56/2

==> 3x - 8 = 28

==> 3x = 28 + 8

==> 3x = 36

==> x = 36/3

==> x = 12

hence, breadth of the rectangular field = x = 12m

length of the rectangular field = 2x - 8 = (2×12)-8 = 24 - 8 = 10m = 16m

hope this helps...!!!
