The length of a rectangular field is 8 meters less than twice its breadth if the perimeter is 56 meters find its dimensions

let,

the breadth of the rectangle = x

the length of the rectangle =2x -8

perimeter of the rectangle =2(length +breadth )

=2( X+2x -8)=56m

=2(3x -8)=56m

=6x -16=56m

=6x=56+16

= 6x =72m

=x=72/6

X=12m

length =2x -8

=2*12 -8

=24-8

=16m

breadth =X

=12m
