let the length be 2x

and bredth be x

so,

perimeter of rectangle = 240

==>240 = 2(L+B)

==>240 = 2(2X + X)

==>240 = 4X + 2X

==>240 = 6x

==>240/6 = X

==>40 = X

it means bredth is 40

and length is 80

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
area of rectangle :--
==> ( L× B)
==> 40×80
==> 3200m^2
let x be the breadth and 2x be the length
perimeter =2(l+b)
240=2(2x+x)
240= 4x+2x
240=6x
x=40
therefore, length = 2x= 2×40=80
breadth=x=40
we have
area of rectangle=l×b
=80×40
=3200
hope it helps
