Let Breadth of the rectangular plot of land is B.

then length of land will be 2B.

a/c to question,

a square swimming pool of side 8m occupies one-eighth part of the plot.

it means, area of swimming pool = 1/8 × area of rectangular land

or, (side length)² = 1/8 × length × Breadth

or, (8m)² = 1/8 × 2B × B

or, 64 = 1/4 × B²

or, 64 × 4 = B²

or, B = 16 m

hence , breadth of the rectangular plot of land is 16m and length of rectangular land is 2 × 16 = 32m

so, answer is 32m

Given: length is twice its breadth , side 8 metre

To find: then length of land=?

Solution:

  • Now, let's consider the breadth of the rectangular plot is x.
  • Then the length of the land willl be 2x.

  • So now in the question, it says,
  • A square swimming pool of side 8m occupies one-eighth part of the plot.
  • That says

              area (swimming pool )= 1/8 × area (rectangular land)

              =>  (side )² = 1/8 × length × breadth

              => (8)² = 1/8 × 2x × x

              => 64 = 1/4 × x²

              => 64 × 4 = x²

              => x = 16 m

Answer:

             Hence , breadth of the rectangular plot of land is 16m and length of rectangular land is 2 × 16 = 32m
