Let the breadth of rec. be x cm
So, the length of rec. be 5+x cm

Perimeter of rec. be 5+x+17 cm

A.T.Q.

2(5+x+x) = 5+x+17
=> 10+2x+2x = 22+x
=> 4x-x = 22-10
=> 3x = 12
=> x = 12/3
=> x = 4

Therefore,

⚫ Breadth of rec.
= x cm
= 4 cm

⚫ Length of rec.
= 5+x cm
= 5+4 cm
= 9 cm

Perimeter of rec.
= 5+x+17 cm
= 5+4+17 cm
= 26 cm

As,
Perimter if rec.
= 2×(9+4) cm
= 2×13 cm
= 26 cm
