Length of rectangle=2(width of rectangle)
l=2w
l=?
Perimeter=54cm
P=2(l+w)
54=2(2w+w)     {since l=2w}
54=2(3w)
54=6w
Transpose 6 to L.H.S
54/6=w
9=w
l=2w
l=2(9)        {since w=9}
l=18cm

given that length of rectangle is twice of its width.
I=2b
we know the perimeter of rectangle=
2(l+b)
the perimeter of rectangle=54cm
2(l+b)=54
2(2b+b)=54
2(3b)=54
3b=27
b=9cm.
then the length is 2(9)=18cm
