Question:-

The length of rectangle is 25cm, which is equal to length of square. The area of the rectangle is 125 cm^2 less than the area of the square. What is the breadth of the rectangle.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Given:-

  • Length of rectangle = l = 25cm
  • Side of square = a = 25cm
  • Area of rectangle = Area of square- 25

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Need to find:-

  • Breath of rectangle = b = ?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Solution :-

Area of the square =  {side}^{2}

 \implies Area =  {25}^{2}  {cm}^{2}

 \purple{\bold{\boxed{\implies  Area of sqaure= 625 {cm}^{2}}}}

━━━━━━━━━━

Also given,

Area of rectangle = Area of square - 25

\implies Area of Rectangle= 625 - 25 {cm}^{2}

 \purple{\bold{\boxed{\implies  Area of Rectangle = 600 {cm}^{2}}}}

━━━━━━━━━━

We know,

Area of a rectangle = length × breadth

→ Breadth = Area ÷ length

→ Breadth = 600 ÷ 25m

\red{\bold{\boxed{\large{\implies Breadth = 24m}}}}

Thus Breadth of rectangle is 24cm
