The length of the longest chord of a circle is x cm. Find the radius of the cirlce.

We know that the longest chord of a circle is diameter.

So given that the diameter is x cm.

And we know that diameter= 2 radius.

So x= 2r
Then r= x/2. cm

Chord is a line segment whose ends are the points on the circle

So,the longest chord in a circle will be the diameter

Diameter is twice the radius. Radius=diameter/2

Here the longest chord (diameter)=x cm
Radius=x/2cm
