the length of the rectangle is 5 cm more than its breadth if the perimeter of the rectangle id 40 cm find the area of rectangle

here's ur answer...

let the breadth of the rectangle be x therefore the length will be 5+x.

perimeter of the rectangle=40cm

2(l+b)=40cm

2(5+x+x)=40cm

2×(5+2x)=40cm

10+4x=40-10

4x=30

x=30/4

x=7.5

hence, breadth of the rectangle=x

=7.5cm

length of the rectangle=5+x

=5+7.5

=12.5cm

verification:-

perimeter=2(l+b)

=2(12.5+7.5)

=2×20

=40cm

hence verified
