Breadth ='x'
Length=5+x
Perimeter of the rectangle=38cm
P=2*(l+b)
38=2*(5+x+x)
38/2=5+2x
19-5=2x
14/2=x
therefore 'x'=7

Answer:

Breadth = 7 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let breadth be x.

length =(  x + 5 )

hence,

perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( length + breadth )

∴38 = 2 (  x + 5 + x )

∴38 = 2 (2x + 5 )

∴38 = 4x + 10

∴38 - 10 = 4x

∴28 = 4x

∴28/4 = x

∴7 =x

x = 7 cm
