now area of triangle ABC =1/2×AB×BC

=24=1/2×××(×-2)

x2-2x-48=0

×-8=0 or x+6=0

×=8 or ×= -6

×=8 cm =AB

x=8cm =AB

x-2= 8-2=6cm= BC

NOW third side , AC = AB2+BC2=64+36=10

hence perimeter= AB+BC+AC= 8+6+10 = 24cm
