The liquid with co-efficient of real expansion of 27 x 10-6 ° C is heated in a
vessel with the co-efficient of linear expansion 9 x 10-61°C. The level of the
liquid with respect to ground will increase or decrease

Answer:

Let γr= real volume expansion coefficient of liquid

Let γa= apparent volume expansion coefficient of liquid

Let γg= real volume expansion coefficient of the vessel

γr=γa+γg

∴γa=γr−γg

But, γg=3αg=3∗9∗10−6/0C=27∗10−6/0C where αg is the linear expansion coefficient of the vessel.

γr=27∗10−6/0C as  given

∴γa=0 since γr=γg

Hence, liquid level remains same.
