Solution :-

Given :
Marked price of an article = Rs 500.
Discount on its marked price = 5%
Profit = 25%

Find the selling price of an article :-

S.P = M.P - discount % of M.P
= 500 - 5% of 500
= 500 - 25
= 475

Find the cost price of an article :-

C.P = (S.P × 100)/(100 + profit)
= (475 × 100)/(100 + 25)
= 47500/125
= 380

Hence,
Cost price of an article = Rs 380

HeY MatE !!

HerE IS YouR AnsweR ———

M.P. of article = ₹500

Discount %= 5%

Discount = discount% of M.P.

= 5\% \: of \: 500 \\  \\  =  \frac{5}{100}  \times 500 \\  \\  = 5 \times 5 \\  \\  = 25</p><p>

now, S.P. = M.P. - discount

= 500-25

= ₹475

Here, gain or profit =25%

now , C.P. =

 = \frac{S.P. \times 100}{100 + p\%}  \\ \\  =  \frac{475 \times 100}{100 + 25\%} \\  \\  =  \frac{475 \times 100}{125}   \\  \\  = 380

therefore, Cost Price of article is ₹380
