Number of moles of nitrogen gas is calculated by-
n = m/M = 15/28 = 0.5357

Heat energy required to increase vrms twice is -
Q = i/2 nR(η^2-1)T
Q = 5/2 × 0.5357 × 8.314 × (4-1)300
Q = 10021 J
Q = 10.021 kJ

Therefore, amt of heat transferred to gas to increase rms velocity to twice is 10.021 kJ.
