The mean of 8 numbers is 14. Four numbers are 8, 9, 11 and 12. The remaining numbers
are in the ratio 3:5:7:9. Find the numbers.​

here,

=> Mean of 8 numbers= 14

=> Four numbers= 8,9,11,12

=> ratio of other four numbers= 3x,5x,7x and 9x....( x is the common multiple)

now,

according to the formula for finding mean:

mean= sum of components

number of components

14= 8+9+11+12+3x+5x+7x+9x

8

14×8= 40+24x

112= 40+24x

112-40=24x

72=24x

72/24=x

3=x

hence,

the remaining numbers are

3x= 3×3= 9

5x= 5×3= 15

7x=7×3= 21

9x= 9×3= 27
