The ploidy of the endosperm is 3n i.e triploid in maize and that of embryo is i.e. haploid...
Therefore the number of chromosomes is 30 in the former and 20...
Keep in mind that maize is tetraploid and it's 2n ploidy is 20 chromosomes...
Hope that helps...

Meiocyte of Maize

Explanation:

  • In the meiocyte  of a maize plant contains 20 chromosomes, at that point the quantity of chromosomes in the endosperm and the embryo of the maize grain are 30 and 20 individually
  • If a meiocyte have 20 chromosomes, at that point the gamete cell is half of it
  • A meiocyte is the kind of cell in the life form which separates into a gamete through the procedure of meiosis  By and large, through meiosis, the diploid meiocyte separates into four hereditarily  haploid gametes
  • The meiocytes are diploid cells i.e. 2N= 20.  Since a somatic cell is likewise a diploid cell
  • 2n=20 or n=10, so the gamete will have 10 chromosomes
