in this story portia had to choose her suitors among the correct one..the one who would tell that from which material the casket was made..gold..silver..or lead..so whwn bassanio came..he told the correct option which was lead

Answer:

Prince of morocco choose the golden casket as he related the beauty of Portia to that of gold as he thinks gold resembles beauty.

Prince of arragon reads the inscription on the silver casket that says "who chooseth me shall get as much as he deserves" and according to him he was a deserving partner for Portia.

Bassanio chooses the lead casket because he knows that the true worth lies inside he ignores the appearance of gold and silver and chooses the lead casket and finds the portrait of Portia.
