Answer:

Hi mate.. Here's ur answer

Let the monthly salaries of the two persons be x.

Therefore, 3x and 5x

Therefore A. T. P

(3x+20)

______ = 13:21 [Increased by 20]

(5x+20)

=> 3x+20 13

______ = __

5x+20 21

=> 21(3x+20) = 13(5x+20) [Cross multiplication]

=> 63x + 420 = 65x + 260

=> 63x - 65x = 260 - 420

=> -2x = -160 [Here we cancel the minus]

=> x = 160

___

2

Therefore x = 80

Thus, 3x = 3*80

= 240

5x = 5*80

= 400

Hence, Rs. 240 and Rs. 400.

Their salaries are Rs.240 and Rs.400\\.

Definition of ratio :

  • A ratio in mathematics denotes the number of times one number contains another.
  • In a bowl of fruit, for example, if there are eight oranges and six lemons, the ratio of oranges to lemons is eight to six.

Solution -

Let, the monthly salary of two-person be "x".

Therefore, 3:5 = 3x : 5x.

An increase in the salary of both people is Rs.20\\.

Change is salaried ratio is 13:21.

3x+20 / 5x + 20 = 13 / 21\\\\13 ( 5x + 20 ) = 21 ( 3x + 20 )\\\\ 63x + 420 = 65x + 260\\ 63x - 65x = 260 - 420\\ -2x = -160\\2x = 160\\x = 80\\

Therefore,

3x = 240\\5x = 400

So, their salaries are Rs.240 and Rs.400\\.
