The nature of plants found in an area to a large extent determines the animals found there too. When the vegetation in altered the animal life also changes there. All the plants and wildlife are interrelated and interdependent on each other. This determine the various food chains found in the area. An area with scanty and scarce vegetation will have animals that can adapt to and survive in such harsh conditions. Example: In a desert where you mostly find acacias and cacti in scarce amounts, animals like camel can survive as they have physically adapted to survive in such conditions. You won't be able to find animals like elephants, lion or tigers here. But if you take the example of a grassland, you won't be able to find camels their as they are not adapted to the varying condition of the grassland. They won't be able to survive in such an environment. But you will definitely find lions and tiger here as the conditions of the grassland are favourable for them to hunt for preys.
