The equation has no solution

Solution:

Given that.

5x + 4y + 6 = 0

10x + 8y = 12

Rewrite the equations

5x + 4y = -6 -------- eqn 1

10x + 8y = 12 ------- eqn 2

Multiply eqn 1 by 2

10x + 8y = -12 -------- eqn 3

Subtract eqn 3 from eqn 2

10x + 8y = 12

10x + 8y = -12

( - ) ---------------------------

0 = 12 + 12

0\neq 24

Thus the equation has no solution
