Let the denominator of fraction be x, then the numerator of fraction will be x–4. According to the question:- x + 1 = 8(x – 4 – 2) ⇒ x + 1 = 8x – 48 ⇒ 8x – x = 1 + 48 ⇒ 7x = 49 => x = 7 Hence, fraction is (7- 4)/7 = 3/7
