the numerator of a rational numbers is five less than its denominator . if the numerator becomes 2 times and the denominator is increased by 4 ,the new number becomes is 1/2.find original number. ​

numerator x-5

fraction x-5/x

according to sum

2(x-5)/x+4=1/2

2x-10/x+4=1/2

4x-20=x+4

3x=24

x=8

fraction 3/8
