Heya !!!

Let denominator of fraction be X .

Numerator = ( X - 4 ).

Fraction = Numerator / Denominator = X-4/X

According to question,

( X - 4 + 1 ) / ( X + 1 ) = 1/2

X - 3 / X + 1 = 1/2

2 ( X- 3 ) = X + 1

2X - 6 = X + 1

2X- X = 1+6

X = 7

Denominator of fraction = X = 7

And,

Numerator = X - 4 = 7-4 = 3

Fraction = Numerator/Denominator = 3/7.
