Let the numerator be x

So the denominator is x+4

If numerator is increased by 3 and denominator is decreased by 5, then the fraction becomes 2.

\frac{x+3}{x-1} = 2

x+3=2x-2

x = 5

So the rational number is \frac{5}{9}
