Hey dear,

◆ Answer -

a = -5

b = 9

◆ Explanation -

Coordinates of new origin are (-5,9).

In new coordinate-system, (3, b) lies on the X-axis. This means Y-axis is shifted by b. But we know that the shift is 9, hence b = 9.

In new coordinate-system, (a, 3) lies on the Y-axis. This means X-axis is shifted by a. But we know that the shift is -5, hence a = -5.

Hope this helped you..
