Step-by-step explanation:

5x-15y=8 ;. 3x+9y=24

solving eq .i we get

5x=8+15y

x=(8+15y)/5

putting the value of x in eq.ii we get..

3{(8+15y)/5+9y=24

=24/5+9y+9y=24

=18y=24-24/5

=18y=96/5

=y=96/(5×18)

y=20/5=4

x=(8+15y)/5

=x=(8+15×4)/5

=x=68/5

Answer:

X = 24/5 & Y = 16/15

Step-by-step explanation:

3 X + 9 Y = 24 .....(1)

5 X - 15 Y = 8 .....(2)

Now multiply (1) by 5 & (2) by 3 :-

15X + 45Y = 120

15X - 45Y = 24

----------------------------

30X = 144

X = 144/30 = 48/10 = 24/5

Y = (24-3X)/9

Y = [ 24-3*(24/5) ]/9

= [ 120 -72 ]/45

= 48/45

= 16/15
