Perimeter of square =4a

56=4a

a=56/4

a=14

area of square =a*a

=14*14

=196m2

area of rectangle =area of square -8

=196-8

=188m2

area of rectangle =l*b

188=16*b

b=188/16

b=11.75m

Perimeter of the square=56m
P=4×side
56=4×side
side=56÷4
side=14m
Area of square=side ×side
=14×14=196 sq.m
According to the problem,
let the area of square be x m
area of rectangle=(x-8)m
area of rectangle=length×breadth
(x-8)=16×breadth
substituting the value of x for (x-8);
196-8=16×breadth
breadth=188÷16
breadth=11.75m
Therefore,the breath of the rectangle is 11.75m.
